Art Show by Julie Callahan & Eileen Hyman
September 11 - November 4, 2008
Reception Saturday, September 13th, 6 - 9pm

Hyman's life experiences as a professional dancer, actor and model in Los Angeles opened her eyes to experience art as ever changing shapes, textures and colors. Her current exhibition focuses on roots, physically and symbolically. As the artist asks about the beginnings of roots, she says "Did the root come from an unknown planet? Was it powerful psychic energies that created this or an alchemical process?" Her processing is expressed on her canvases.

Julie Callahan trains her macro lens on minute pieces of peeling graffiti, finding bright bursts of color and life from this underground expression. She strives to "find the beauty in the mundane as well as in the divine."

Art Show by Dani Willis & Lois Bloom
November 6 - January 12, 2009

Dani Willis loves watercolors because of the "transparency and the way the colors flow together when wet." There is a softness and gentleness about her work. Dani is inspired by nature, and enjoys the possibilities of painting nature in the misty mornings or in the shadows of dusk.

Lois Bloom is always ready with her camera when she vacations in Kauai and Costa Rica, and she paints from her vast pile of accumulated photos. Since her husband and son are avid surfers, she has become the family historian in terms of tropical photos and magnificent watercolors.

Fox Fine Jewelry is proud to participate in the City of Ventura's ArtWalks. Over 150 Southern California artists exhibit artwork at more than eighty locations throughout Ventura.
